Hmm, I wasn't a big fan of the food at Junnoon. It seems to be a love it or hate it place amongst my friends. Anyway, I ate at the Amber India at Santana Row for first time last night and the food was fantastic. Anytime I'm in the mood for anything remotely Indian I'll be heading to San Jose.

Tom,
What do you recommend for dinner takeout?
-Gus

For Palo Alto takeout: on University Avenue, I like Pasta? and Hyderabad House. For pre-prepared food downtown, I'll use A.G. Ferrari or Whole Foods. Sometimes I hit the California Pizza Kitchen at the Stanford Shopping Center (offers curbside service so that when I'm feeling slothful I don't even have to get out of my car let alone find a parking spot). Heading further south, there is a hidden gem in Town & Country, a little Korean takeout spot called Some Kind of Place; it's literally mom and pop (very nice people) so the hours are sporadic -- call first to make sure they're open, (650) 321-4730. On California Avenue, Mediterranean Wraps is always solid. Finally, for Chinese in PA I like Hunan Garden on El Camino south of Page Mill (next to Boston Chicken).
